Domain Registration .cn (China)China
General Info about .cn domain names (China)
- All letters "a" to "z" without distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase are accepted;
- All numbers from "0" to "9" are allowed;
- Hyphens (-) are allowed but not at the begin or end in your domain name and you can't put 2 consecutives hyphens (--);
- The minimum length of the domain name is 2 characters extension (.cn) excluded;
- The maximum length of the domain name is 50 characters extension (.cn) excluded;
Documentation requirements
The Chinese Authority has made an important change to the regulation of the .CN domains, allowing free registration to natural persons and foreign companies present in various countries of the world, including Italy.

The following documentation must be provided (the Authority may request documentation in English):
- the copy of the Certificate of attribution of the VAT number;
- a copy of the identification document of the legal representative.
While, if the applicant is involved; a company present in China or Hong Kong, the following documents are required:
For China's Applicant:
Registrant Company Business License (jpeg format), the license should be within the period of validity
Registrant Company Certificate of Organization Code / (jpeg format)
Registrant contact identity card copy (both sides, jpeg format).
Domain name (s) that used to be the site where the server is located in mainland China now or in the future, the ICP number must be applied from MIIT in accordance with the Chinese Government's regulations. ICP number shall be provided to the domain name registrar when available.
For Hong Kong's Applicant:
Business Registration (BR) Certificate (jpeg format), the license should be within the period of validity.
Registrant contact identity card copy (both sides, jpeg format).
Domain name (s) that used to be the site where the server is located in mainland China now or in the future, the ICP number must be applied from MIIT in accordance with the Chinese Government's regulations. ICP number shall be provided to the domain name registrar when available.

Full control to manage the DNS records of the associated domains. DNS servers are globally distributed with a highly redundant structure.

Redirect Url Free domains .cn
Visitors who will digitize the domain name will be redirected to another web space / URL.
URL redirects are of two types:
1. Forwarding URLs : Redirects the domain name to another web address; in the address bar will read; the destination address.
2. Alias : Point the domain name to a hosting plan already purchased on ormag.net; the address bar will continue to read the domain name

Maximum annual number for domains .cn
The .cn domains can be registered for a renewable year.
Maximum number of .cn domains adjustable
For .cn domains there are no limitations.
.cn domain names NS configuration
- Is not serious; necessary to pre-set the NameServer, in case they are indicated by the Customer but are incorrect, will be indicated temporarily those of Ormag;
- Minimum number of nameservers 2, maximum number of nameservers 13.
Local presence for domains .cn
the Chinese Authority has made an important change to the regulation of the .CN domains, allowing free registration to natural persons and foreign companies present in different countries of the world, including Italy.
In the event that the applicant does not have a local presence in one of the countries listed, Ormag provides the Local Presence service: http://www.ormag.net/packages.php
This service will be renewed annually with each domain it is associated with.
Restrictions for domains .cn
the .CN domains do not have particular restrictions because the competent Authority has deregulated registration for individuals and companies present in different countries of the world, including Italy.
Those who do not have the local presence in the countries listed in the link above can purchase the Local Presence .CN service
Therefore the restrictions are the general ones shown above.
